Description
MINYM GEL contains Minocycline, which belongs to the group of medicines called Tetracyclines. It is used in adults and children above 9 years of age to treat pimples and red bumps (non-nodular inflammatory lesions) associated with moderate to severe acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder that can present with both inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions. It may arise due to the use of some medicines, excess oil production, sunlight exposure, hormonal abnormalities, etc.
Your doctor will advise you to limit your sunlight exposure and avoid sunlight or artificial sunlight such as sunlamps or tanning beds while using MINYM GEL to prevent photosensitivity and sunburn. While going out, wear loose-fitting clothes and apply sunscreen for skin protection.
It is not recommended to use MINYM GEL if you are allergic to tetracyclines. Before using MINYM GEL, inform your doctor if you have liver problems, kidney diseases or watery stools (diarrhoea). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding before starting to use MINYM GEL.
It is not advised to use MINYM GEL in children under the age of nine. The most common side effect of using MINYM GEL is a headache. Consult your doctor if it worsens over time.
